My name is Matt Saba. I am a graduate student in art history who also loves cooking, reading about cooking and talking about cooking. I am based in Chicago, Illinois, whose restaurants and corner-groceries have provided culinary inspiration for the last nine years. I am originally from Auburn, Alabama, a college town whose eclectic population of southerners and ex-pats introduced me to many of my favorite recipes. For the next two years I am a transient resident of several places, including London and Berlin, as I research my dissertation. This blog is about the things I try after I leave the archives and close the books for the day. It has no theme, but an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients and recipes with a tradition.
